CNN-IBN channel conducted a nation wide opinion poll to know the mood of the nation (A Billion votes) in view of the upcoming general elections in April-May. Today, the channel presented the opinion poll results of the 2 crucial states i.e. Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. This exclusive poll was conducted by The Centre for Study of Developing Societies. They collected 20,000 samples from 1280 locations in 25 states. They conducted this poll in January, 2009.
IBN Poll: Who will win in AP in 2009?
Congress Party is much ahead of opposition parties in Andhra Pradesh according to the opinion poll of IBN channel. Poll results are shocking news to the leaders of “Mahakootami” in AP. Leaders of the newly formed PRP of Chiranjeevi cannot digest these poll results.
1. YSR will retain power in the next elections as 73% of voters are satisfied with his performance.
2. Congress is expected to get 45% of total votes while TDP can get just 30% of votes. According to Poll, Congress Party will sweep next elections. But poll has not taken alliances into consideration.
3. Praja Rajyam party of Chiranjeevi can get only 7% of votes. PRP influence is limited to specific regions of the state and may play spoilsport in the 2009 polls.
4. According to the Poll, BJP can get surprisingly 9% of votes. This is the biggest weakpoint in this poll.
5. According to IBN Poll, TRS and Left parties can get only 9% of votes. It is difficult to believe the vote percentages of TRS, BJP and Communist parties.
6. 53% of voters felt that present Congress Government performance is much better than past TDP Government.
7. In Telangana, 63% of voters are in support of separate state. This is the only hope for “Mahakootami”.
This poll is happy news for both Congress Party and YS Rajasekhar Reddy in particular. Congress with 45% votes is ahead of Mahakootami’s 39% votes.
Note: According to Arun Nehru, Congress will get 19 Loksabha seats while TDP can get 13 seats only. TRS is expected to get 6 Loksabha seats.
In Tamil Nadu, DMK is gradually losing ground to AIADMK alliance. Jayalalitha will surely place a crucial role in the formation of next Government at the centre.
Latest election news:
