NDTV conducted a nationwide opinion to understand mood of the nation. As per poll, Congress party will win in 30 Loksabha seats and opposition parties are still not in a position to give any significant fight to ruling party despite death of charismatic leader, Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy.
Congress party won in 33 Loksabha seats in 2009 elections and is now expected to lose in another 3 seats if elections were held now.
Telugu Desam may win in 7-8 seats if we interpret the poll. Telugu Desam party failed to win voters confidence as it is not fighting on any issue. Their leaders are taking it granted after death of YSR. But, UPA’s rural focussed programmes are yielding desirable effect on minds of Indian voters.
This is a warning signal for Telugu Desam party. Chandrababu Naidu lost the plot. It is unfortunate to see “Andhra Chnakya” in this state. He failed to motivate strong TDP cadre. In stead of fighting on problems of voters and touring state extensively, he is busy in arranging marriages and spending time in Hyderabad.
Chandrababu should ask himself one question: “Why people still love NTR even after his death?”
Reason: NTR committed many mistakes in his 16 year political career but he sincerely worked for welfare of poor people. He was defeated in 1989 elections (many reasons) but he never lost pro-poor image and trust.
Laptop analysis and conferences in Hyderabad may not help to win elections. Poor people are looking for a leader who can work hard for them but there is a strong leadership vacuum in Andhra Pradesh. Chandrababu is fortunate as Chiranjeevi failed miserably in leadership test.
Who can fill vacuum left by YSR in Andhra Pradesh? Can Chandrababu regain confidence of voters?
