Telangana By-Elections: History of Assembly segments:
In 2004, TRS won in 10 seats while BJP won in Nizamabad Urban and Vemulawada went to TDP. Mancherial assembly is previouly Luxettipet Assembly segment. Nizamabad assembly is divided into Nizamabad urban and rural segments. Warangal is divided into Warangal east and west assembly segments. Dharmapuri and Vemulawada are formed after de-limitation exercise.
Most of these Assembly segments are traditionally Telugu Desam Party bastions but party is gradually losing grip after the emergence of TRS. BJP has significant presence in Vemulawada and Nizamabad assembly segments. Congress party strengthened in most of these segments during YSR rule. During NTR days, Congress failed to win in most of these segments.
