Andhra Pradesh election commission is expected to announce schedule for MLC elections within 10 days. MLC elections will be held in March, 2011. Stalwarts like Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy and Legislative Council Chairman Chakrapani are completing their term.
MLC vacant seats:
1. Graduate seats: 3
2. Teacher quota: 3
3. MLA quota: 10
4. Governor quota: 4
Andhra Election views:
1. Congress may re-nominate Chairman Chakrapani under Governor Quota.
2. MLA quota: Congress may allot one seat to MIM and one seat to PRP. Congress may contest from 4 seats. TDP will easily win in 3 seats.
3. Tough fight for the remaining one seat in MLA quota.
4. Expect triangular contest between Congress, TDP and YS Jagan group in two Rayalaseema graduate seats.
5. UTF may retain East Rayalaseema teacher seat.
6. Will Jagan group MLAs support YS Vivekananda Reddy if he contests?
7. Will Jagan group contest for one MLC seat (29 MLAs required)?
