CPI MLA from Wyra, Dr. Chandravathi Banoth married her childhood sweetheart Ravella Suresh in Hyderabad. Suresh is a software engineer but Chandravathi family opposed this inter-caste love marriage. She studied M.B;B.S in Andhra Medical College and is the youngest MLA in AP Assembly. Chandravathi is one of the 4 CPI candidates who won in 2009 AP Assembly elections.
CPI leader K. Narayana and Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar played crucial role in conducting this marriage. Bride parents have not attended the ceremony. The marriage was performed as per Hindu tradition at a star hotel in Hyderabad.
In Wyra, Dr. Chandravathi (CPI) defeated Congress candidate Bhukya Ramachandra Nayak by a margin of 13,626 votes in 2009 Assembly elections. Wyra constituency is reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST).
MLAs G. Mallesh, Julakanti Rangareddy, Kunamneni Sambasivarao and the parents of bridegroom attended the marriage function.
