Andhra Pradesh Government released Gazette notification with regard to reservations of Zilla Parishat (ZP) Chairersons. 50% of seats are reserved for women while 60.55% seats are reserved for SC, ST and BC candidates. Government has not allotted reservations in accordance with Supreme Court order.
Caste wise reservations:
1. BCs (including Muslims): 34%
2. SCs: 18.3% & STs: 8.25%
2011 Andhra ZP Chairman reservations (distirct wise):
Most of the Zilla Parishat Chairperson posts in Coastal Andhra are allotted to either general/general woman category. So, top leaders will contest for these posts in Coastal distircts especially from Telugu Desam and YSR Congress parties.

According to Supreme Court ruling, Government should not reserve more than 50% seats to BC, SC and STs (political reservations). But, AP government decided to reserve 60.55% seats to these sections including Muslims.
Government already prepared an ordinance to appoint special officers if elections will be postponed due to legal issues. AP Election Commission is planning to conduct elections according to the schedule.
