Darsi Assembly

Darsi Assembly segment underwent massive changes during 2008 de-limitation exercise. It moved from Narasaraopet Loksabha segment to Ongole Parliament constituency. Podili mandal was removed from Darsi assembly segment and Donakonda mandal was added which changed caste equations in the constituency.

Important political development: Darsi MLA Buchepalli Siva Prasada Reddy is a relative and follower of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. If Jagan forms a new political party, he will definitely join that party. Congress minus Buchepalli family/Buchepalli family minus Congress will improve Telugu Desam chances in the constotuency.

2. Prajarajyam party failed to attract BC voters in 2009 Assembly elections.

3. Ongole Parliament congress candidate got more votes than Darsi Assembly congress canddiate in Darsi segment.
