Ongole Assembly

In Ongole Assembly segment, no caste has dominant presence. Despite split in Kapu votes due to Prajarajyam, Congress party candidate Balineni Srinivasa Reddy won easily from Ongole due to lack of leadership in the opposition. Due to complex caste equations, Balineni registered hat-trick number of victories from Ongole Assembly segment. In 2009 polls, he got majority even in the TDP strongholds.
