Parchur Assembly underwent significant changes after de-limitation exercise in 2008 and number of voters increased by 80%. Telugu Desam party benefitted from de-limitation exercise in Parchur segment. But, Congress candidate Daggubati Venkateswara Rao won from here and continued his undefeated sreak in an election since 1984.
