Palamaneru town derived its name from “Pallavan eeru (Lake dug by Pallava kings)”. It is a cosmopiitan town due to its close location to Tamil Nadu and Karnataka borders. Due to is high altitude location, temperature is always at moderate levels in Palamaner.
Palamaner is traditionally a TDP stronghold but Congress party shocked even political analysts by winning in 23 out of 24 wards in the Municipality.
