Kurnool Corporation

 

 

Kurnool was upgraded from municipality to municipal corporation in 2004. Kurnool city was the state capital of Andhra state  from October 1st, 1953 to November 1st, 1956 and derived its name from Kandenavolu. Kurnool town is located on the banks of Tungabhadra river and suffered from floods in October, 2009. CPM has significant presence in this city. City landmark is Kondareddy Burz.
