Araku parliament

 

 

Araku loksabha segment is reserved for Scheduled Tribes and was formed after de-limitation in 2008. Araku valley is a beautiful tourist spot in Andhra pradesh and is also famous for Bauxite reserves in the constituency. Kishore Chandra Deo won from Araku in 2009 elections by recording highest majority (1,92,444) in the state.

1. All the Assembly segments in the constituency are reserved for either SCs or STs. 

 

 

2. Araku is the only parliament segment in the state that spread over 4 districts (Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam & East Godavari).

 

 

3. It is the only parliament constituency in the state which consists of six ST reserved assembly segments.
